Equipment

  • Grill
  • Mixing Bowl
  • airtight container
  • paper towel

Ingredients

For the salmon

  • 6 fillets salmon each should be about 5 oz
  • ¾ cup butter melted
  • 1 cup lemon juice
  • cup soy sauce
  • cup fresh basil minced
  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 3 teaspoon curry powder
  • cup Worcestershire sauce
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • teaspoon pepper

For the tartar sauce

  • ¾ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ¾ teaspoon ground mustard
  • teaspoon pepper
  • teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon green onion chopped
  • ¾ teaspoon dried dill

Instructions

Salmon Preparation

  • Grab a mixing bowl and combine all the ingredients necessary for the salmon marinade, including butter, lemon juice, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, as well as all the seasonings and herbs listed.
  • Transfer the marinade to an airtight container and add the salmon pieces, making sure they’re all coated evenly.
  • Let the salmon sit in the marinade in your fridge for at least 30 minutes, flipping the pieces a couple of times during the marinating period.
  • For the tartar sauce, combine all the listed ingredients in a small bowl and let it chill in the fridge until it’s time to serve the salmon.
  • Once the salmon is ready, drain the excess marinade and prepare the grill at around 450°F, lightly greasing the grill rack with a paper towel dipped in cooking oil.
  • Place the salmon onto the rack skin-side down, cover the grill, and set it to moderate heat.
  • Grill the salmon for about 8-10 minutes, or until you’re satisfied with the texture, then plate and serve with the tartar sauce.

Notes

Marinating the salmon is key to achieving flavorful and tender fillets.
