- 4 cutlets pork chops (boneless, about 1cm thick)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs beaten eggs
- 1 cup panko (Japanese breadcrumbs)
- Vegetable oil for frying
For the Tonkatsu Sauce
- ½ cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon mirin
- 1 teaspoon karashi mustard optional
Garnish
- Finely sliced white cabbage
Flatten the pork chops to an even thickness and season with salt and pepper.
Coat the pork chops in flour, dip in beaten eggs, then cover with panko, pressing lightly to adhere.
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the chops until golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes each side. Drain on paper towels or a wire rack.
To prepare the Tonkatsu sauce, mix ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, mirin and mustard to create a smooth and flavorful sauce.
