  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk 15 oz
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups pecan halves
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted

Optional Add-Ins

  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon for warm flavor
  • ½ cup chocolate chips for a turtle-style twist
  • 1 splash bourbon or maple syrup for depth

Baking Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  • Stir in pecan halves and pour the mixture into the prepared pan.
  • Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over the top—no mixing!
  • Drizzle melted butter over the top, covering as much of the dry mix as possible.
  • Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until golden and bubbling.
  • Let cool slightly before serving. Best warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!

Notes

For extra gooeyness, add an extra ¼ cup condensed milk. Store leftovers covered in the fridge up to 4 days. Reheat individual portions in the microwave for 20–30 seconds.
