Ingredients
  

Cabbage and Vegetables

  • 8 cups cabbage, very finely chopped (about 1 medium head)
  • ¼ cup carrot, finely shredded
  • 2 tablespoons onion, minced very fine

Dressing

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup whole milk
  • ¼ cup buttermilk
  • 2 ½ tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 ½ tablespoons white vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • teaspoon black pepper

Instructions
 

Shred the Base

  • Finely chop the cabbage into very small pieces using a sharp knife or a food processor.
  • Avoid over-processing to prevent turning it into a watery paste.

Prep the Color

  • Grate the carrot using small holes on a box grater.
  • Toss the shredded carrot with the cabbage in a large mixing bowl.

Mince the Onion

  • Finely mince the onion and add it to the bowl with cabbage and carrots.
  • Ensure it's small enough for the flavor to spread without chunks.

Whisk the Dressing

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sugar, milk, and buttermilk until smooth.
