Ingredients
  

For the Fries

  • 2 medium Turnips select small to medium for extra sweetness
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil cooking spray can be used as an alternative
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder fresh garlic can also be used for a robust flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika regular paprika can substitute if preferred
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder shallots can be a fresh twist
  • 1 teaspoon Salt adjust according to taste preferences
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper adjust according to taste preferences

For the Creamy Herb Dip

  • 1 cup Greek Yogurt or Sour Cream, swap in dairy-free yogurt for vegan version
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Chives green onions can be used if out of chives
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Dill omit or substitute with parsley if desired
  • 1 clove Minced Garlic garlic powder will work in a pinch
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Lemon Juice vinegar can substitute if in a hurry

Instructions
 

Method

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to ensure even cooking.
  • Wash, peel, and trim your turnips, then slice them into uniform fry-shaped sticks, about ¼ to ½ inch thick.
  • Toss the turnip sticks in a bowl with olive oil until lightly coated for a golden-brown finish.
  • Mix garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, and black pepper in a separate bowl. Sprinkle over turnips and toss to coat evenly.
  • Arrange seasoned turnip fries in a single layer on a lined baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • While the fries are baking, combine Greek yogurt, chives, dill, minced garlic, and lemon juice in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Keep an eye on the fries; they should be golden brown and crispy on the outside while remaining tender inside.
